Junior Tour de Naperville Took Place on August 10th

On Saturday, children ages three to twelve wheeled through Wolf’s Crossing Community Park for the 11th annual Junior Tour de Naperville.  There were 135 kids that took part in the 1.246 mile path on bikes, tricycles, and big wheels.  The race included three different start times, based on age group, ages 3-5, 6-8 and 9-12. 

Naperville District Park hosted the event and encouraged the older Junior Tour de Naperville participants to see how many times they could loop the bike path.  There were two snack stations set up to keep the kids fueled during the event.

Junior Tour de Naperville was first started as a way to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Tour de France and has grown each year since.  “It’s just a good time for families to come together and see the park and what it has to offer – one of the last fun things you can do before heading back to school,” says Naperville District Park intern Kervall Vital.
