Naperville Nursing Home to Celebrate Nine Triple-Digit Birthdays This Year

St. Patrick's Residence Nursing and Rehabilitation have nine residents who will be celebrating triple digit birthday this year.  Five of the nine were have become great friends since being at St. Patrick's, a facility run by Carmelite nuns just outside of downtown Naperville.  

Mary Potthast, 102, grew up on a farm and went on to teach at Catholic schools in Chicago's west surburbs and eventually became principal.  She was later one of the founders of St. Daniel the Prophet Church in Wheaton.  

Grace Pecora, 103, grew up in Chicago's Far South Side and was a secretary.  The man she married she met in grammar school and they had two sons.  She also has six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Alice Figlo, 101, was an artist and had a scholarship at School of the Art Institute of Chicago.  Before she got married to her husband of 64 years, she created Christmas window displays in downtown Chicago. 

Frances Trombino, 102, will turn 103 this year, is a native New Yorker who moved to Illinois to be closer to family.  

Christine Cappetta will turn 102 this month.  She loves music and dancing and can't stress the importance of kindness enough.
